Matchday – Wigan V Saints – Super League Grand Final 2020

The Best Game Ever ? Not quite but still a remarkable night at the KCOM....

.Wigan St Pats – erm well you only need to walk into the club house and see the Framed international shirts on the wall donated by former players to know you are in rugby league heaven . How a little slighty scuffed around the edges amateur  club in a Wallace and Gromit like warren of red brick terraces in downtown Wigan keeps producing players of the ilk of Andy Gregory and Joe Lydon , to the players of today , The Tompkins Brothers  and Sean O’Loughlin not forgetting from the dark side a certain Owen Farrell one can only wonder

Whilst playing memories were almost always ones of frustration due to the old time RL tradition of ‘taking 10’ on a penalty in lieu of a kick always in operation on the far touch at Clarendon St due its close proximity to the Leeds Liverpool Canal . As a kicker there was nothing worse when you were on a roll and a good 3O yarder to touch was what was required .
