League 1’s New Voice …

Just seen some fantastic news via twitter that after a crap day made me smile a bit ..

That most venerable of League Publications ‘Forty- Twenty’ has a new contributor – step forward Dave Musson – who will be editing the League 1 page for the rest of the season and hopefully beyond .

Dave for those of you that don’t know him is the voice , along with fellow presenter Craig Cathcart of Coventry Bears excellent podcast ‘Bear Necessities ‘ . If you’ve never listened to an RL podcast give this one a go – running for the last 3 years its half an hour of all things Bears . Dave and Craigs positivity for the club and its activities shine through , these are the guys that listening to their dissemination of Sundays Friendly at the Cougars , you’d have thought it was Coventry celebrating a 68-10 victory not the other way round ! Never scared of approaching anyone for an off the cuff interview at games , Ralph Rimmer , Dave Woods and Gary Schofield have all been ‘got’  during the last couple of years as well .

As a fan of a L1 lower end expansion club I’m sure Dave’s column will throw up some interesting opinions and its refreshing  to see a National RL publication engage the services of someone in the ‘know ‘ about life in the lower echelon’s of semi pro RL  rather than just giving the job to a a fledgling SL reporter with no personal interest in the division .

All good stuff …
